Gem the Wonder Dog

We are the owners of a 13 year old border collie named Gem and a 5 year old cat named Rock. We rescused Gem when she was 2 and she has become my all-time favorite dog! She is fat, lazy, and un-disciplined but very, very happy. This picture is Gem displaying her laziness. I am certain that she has an eating disorder as she loves to go through the garbage and eat anything. She has been known to sniff out chocolate and eat an entire pound of Sees candy. Yes, I know that chocolate is supposed to kill dogs but not Gem. She loves it! Now we don't attempt to cater to her chocolate craving. She just has a knack for smelling it and doing whatever is necessary to get it. This past Christmas she smelled chocoate zipped inside of Amanda's backpack but decided to rip open every box in her attempt to obtain the treat. She chewed the bottom of Amanda's blue-tooth that was going to be returned to Target. Amanda didn't hesitate to return it to Target explaining that her dog had eaten the box. She still got a full refund!
